On April 21, 2022, a meeting of the "Young Chemist" circle in the form of a Baby Skills competition was held at the Higher College of Electronics and Communications, as part of the week of general education disciplines. An event on the competence of "Entertaining chemistry" among students of the third and fifth grades of schools in the city of Pavlodar.

Purpose: Formation of an early understanding of professions: to show how closely chemistry is connected with our daily life; the development of cognitive interest; having even a minimal stock of knowledge in chemistry, to create opportunities for younger students to compete in mastering professional skills; education of accuracy; compliance with safety regulations; to show "not boring" subject of chemistry.

The competition was attended by students of schools: Secondary school No. 27 - Bolat Danaya, Bondarenko Milana, Reshetnikova Lisa, Brekhova Veronika; Secondary school No. 11 - Nefedova Diana; Secondary school No. 43 - Sokolova Arseniya.

 

  

Two members of the circle were assigned to each participant. The young participants of the competition approached the tasks with interest and responsibly, under the guidance of mentors-circle members. The contests were conducted by a student of group C-121 Nazimken Aizada and a chemistry teacher Mulyarchik T.A. Entertaining contests: "Smart iodine"; "Identify a substance by smell"; "Divide a mixture of substances"; "Mineral water with your own hands"; "Rusty nail in 5 minutes"; "Guess the word", but the most interesting, competition- "Miracles with their own hands", when all the participants did- slime. A surprise for everyone - Milana Nefedova (A-111) and Alexey Kononenko (A-111) showed the "Silver Mirror Reaction" experience, and Nazar Toktasymov (A-111) showed the "Snake" experience. The creative atmosphere prevailed throughout all competitions.

The competent jury, which included: teacher of secondary school No. 27 Shokanova Zhanna Tulegenovna, Kalmykov Yuri Anatolyevich - head of the department of "CT and SW", Bayakhmetova Kairpanu Sailaubaevna - chairman of the cyclic commission of "General Education disciplines", Shuntieva Ayazhan Madievna - computer science teacher, Nurgozhina Zhanara Oralbekovna -deputy head of Information Technology. The jury had to choose the best. It was not easy to judge the participants, because each of the team was striving for victory.

Following the results of the event, Kalmykov Yu.A. and Bayakhmetova K.S. congratulated the winners and participants of the championship, said many kind words to the participants.

Awarded diplomas for active participation and sweet prizes: Sokolova Arseniya (Begey A., Aidarkhanovaz.), Brekhova Veronika (Ramazanova A., Orynbayev B.), Bolat Danaya (ToktasynovN., Gritsenko D.)

And, as it should be in every game, the best chemists were identified, they were awarded diplomas and sweet prizes. 1st place – Diana Nefedova (Kononenko A., Nefedova M.); 2nd place -Milana Bondarenko (Okuneva Yu., Derzhaeva N.), 3rd place – Lisa Reshetnikova (Zelenkov I., Amelkov M.)

During the championship, they played the game "Guess the profession by movement". Also, the students got acquainted with our educational institution, learned in which specialties the training of personnel is carried out. A video about our college is shown.

The event is dedicated to showing how chemistry is connected with our daily life, and maybe with our future profession. The topic of early career guidance at school is relevant today, since the formation of active citizens of society, the development of their initiative and abilities begins at an early school age. This event left bright and warm memories for the participants.
