First-year students of the C-113 group specializing in Radio Engineering, electronics and Telecommunications visited the enterprise of the largest telecom operator in the Republic of Kazakhstan - Kazakhtelecom on April 19 this year. The tour was organized in order to familiarize future industry specialists with modern communication technologies, the structure and work of one of the leading enterprises of the telecom operator.
During the tour, students had the opportunity to visit the technical office of the company, where a meeting was organized with the technical mentor of the Department of Network Operation and Access S.V. Pogudin. He spoke about the main activities of Kazakhtelecom: fixed and mobile communications, Internet services, cable TV, and also voiced issues of occupational safety and health. In addition, the tour participants visited the cross technical area, where all switching takes place and the stable operation of the communication network is ensured.
The company's specialists conducted a tour of the Museum of communications for students, where the students got acquainted with the history of communication development, information transfer technologies and modern achievements in this field. The students saw rare exhibits, learned about the work of telephone and telegraph stations, switchboards, and even listened to an old gramophone. The tour was not only fascinating, but also informative, broadened the horizons of students and aroused interest in their future specialty.
